The first agreement was signed with Wadi Al Murukh, which will manufacture soundproof glass and glass building facades. The cost of the project is QR6.13m and the unit will have a capacity of 228,000 sq metres per annum. Wadi Chairman Khalid Ahmed Fakhroo signed on behalf of his company while QDB General Manager Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani signed for the bank.

The factory will cover 5,781sqm in the Small and Medium Industries Zone and production will meet six per cent of the country's requirements.

The second project, Voltamp, will see the unit manufacture 2,700 electrical transformers per year, ranging in capacity from 100 to 3,000kva. The firm is a partnership involving Salam International Investment, Four Pillars for Development and Voltamp, an oman-based company.

The cost of the project is QR9.51m and will also be located in the Zone covering an area of 11,500sqm. Voltamp Chairman Abdullah Kavlan signed on behalf of Voltamp while Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser signed for QDB.

Later, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser said: "The bank is now attaching more importance to promoting all investment services and consultancy."
